I had a mix of experiences during my stay at the Mercure Amsterdam Centre Canal District. The location was pretty great, just a short stroll to the canals and nearby attractions. However, the experience wasn't all smooth sailing—some staff were super helpful, but I did run into issues with payment that left me frustrated. The hotel decor was charming, which made up for it a bit, but I felt the room accommodations were not as spacious as I expected.

Rooms
6.0
The room was nice but a lot smaller than I thought it would be from the photos. The decor was fine, but the bathroom felt dated, and drinking tea and coffee out of paper cups wasn't ideal.
Service
5.0
Staff were friendly, but the payment situation really threw me off. While some points of contact were great and helped with my queries, the overall service didn't feel very customer-focused at that moment.
Location
8.0
The location is pretty sweet, with easy access to the canal district, nearby restaurants, and the metro. I enjoyed wandering the charming streets and found it was a good base for exploring the city.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was surprisingly good with plenty of options, but I found dining in the area to be a tad expensive. Still, the variety and quality made it worthwhile.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities like room service and laundry were decent, but I would have liked a bit more choice at the hotel bar. The lack of cocktails was a letdown.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at the hotel. While the breakfast was quite good and there were some friendly staff members, the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. The rooms felt worn and the location was farther from the canals than I had expected, making it less convenient for sightseeing.

Rooms
6.0
The room was medium-sized, but the bathroom was quite small and felt cramped. Also, the carpets were worn and made the space feel less clean than I would have liked.
Service
6.0
I found the front desk staff to be friendly and helpful, but my experience was marred by the lack of communication regarding their cash policy, which was poorly explained.
Location
6.0
The hotel is technically in the Centre Canal District, but it was a bit of a walk to reach the canals and major attractions. I appreciated that it was on a quiet street, but it wasn't as central as I had hoped.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was a highlight and offered a nice variety, but I found it a bit expensive at 20 euros per person for other meals. Luckily, there were plenty of dining options nearby.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had some useful amenities, but the overall decor felt shabby and it lacked the boutique charm I was hoping for. I did appreciate the good WiFi during my stay.

The Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Centre Canal District had a fantastic location near major attractions. though my experience was marred by the cramped room size and cleanliness issues. The breakfast was decent but lacked vegetarian options. Overall, it felt overpriced for what was offered.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were quite small and felt claustrophobic. I could hear noise from the street due to a lack of double glazing. Cleanliness in the bathroom could use improvement.
Service
5.0
While some staff were friendly and helpful, others weren't as accommodating. I encountered issues with the ironing service, leading to frustration.
Location
8.0
The location was a major plus, making it easy to walk to attractions like the Rijksmuseum, and transport options were nearby.
Dining

The breakfast spread was decent. though the vegetarian options were quite limited.
Facilities

The hotel offered basic facilities, but I found the ironing equipment unsatisfactory and the in-room amenities to be lacking in quality.

I had a mixed experience at the Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Centre Canal District. On one hand, the location is fantastic and allows easy access to major attractions, and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. However, I faced issues with the noise levels from the street and an overall lack of amenities that made my stay less than perfect.

Rooms
5.0
The room was a decent size, but I was disappointed by the noise levels coming from the street and the lack of face towels. Additionally, the shower setup was not well-designed, leading to water filling the bathroom if I wasn't careful.
Service
10.0
The staff were truly helpful during my stay, especially when we required a ground floor relocation. They went out of their way to assist us when we encountered issues due to a cancelled flight.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location is excellent—within walking distance to major attractions like the Heineken Experience and museums. It feels safe and is just a short walk away from tram and metro stations, which is a big plus.
Dining
5.0
While the breakfast offered a good variety, I felt that the price of €20 per person was a bit steep for what was provided. It seemed like the dining experience could have been better value.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had the basic facilities I needed, but amenities like ice availability and lotion in the rooms were lacking, which detracted from the overall experience.

My stay at Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Centre Canal District had its ups and downs. The location was absolutely perfect for accessing major attractions, and the hotel itself was clean and visually appealing. However, my room left much to be desired—with a frustratingly small size and ineffective air conditioning, it made for an uncomfortable stay. Overall, while the convenience of the area was great, my room's limitations affected my experience more than I had hoped.

Rooms
6.0
I was disappointed with the room size and the air conditioning was inadequate, making it feel stuffy. The tiny desk and chair setup didn't help either. it was more challenging to work than I anticipated.
Service
7.0
Staff were polite and checked me in efficiently. They addressed my needs, but there wasn't much warmth in their interactions.
Location
9.0
The location was a huge advantage, just a short walk from key attractions like the Rijksmuseum, which made sightseeing very convenient.
Dining
7.0
I couldn't take advantage of the on-site dining options, but nearby restaurants were easily accessible, contributing to the overall convenience.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel was clean and equipped with decent amenities, though I did miss some basic toiletries that would have made my stay more comfortable.
